NEW WILD STEELHEAD PROTECTIONs ON THE OLYMPIC PENINSULA

Members of the Washington Department of Fish an Wildlife overwhelmingly approved measures to protect the OP's dwindling wild steelhead populations. The new protections include a zero-harvest mandate for wild rainbow and steelhead in 10 OP rivers, a ban on barbed hooks, limits on bait fishing, and restrictions on fishing from a watercraft. The new regulations will help keep the Peninsula on every steelhead anglers' bucket list.
